... I am enjoying the air conditioner!

As my hubbie puts it, I picked  a great time to 'retire'. It has been so hot the last couple of days here in Nashville, TN. Today it got up to around 95 degrees and yesterday was about as bad. Work was horrible with the heat but I only had to work 1.5 hours and I don't think I would of survived longer than that. It was great to get home and drink some non-alcoholic beer.

Yes NON Alcoholic! I was already a lightweight with alcohol before getting diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Now with the medications I take to control my PH, the alcohol affects me faster and harder. So I have found the non alcoholic beers which allows me to have beer without the side effects. And no side effects is GREAT!

Lately I have been spinning on my Sangria from AlohaBlu. Almost done on the singles and getting ready to ply. I will share pictures once I am done spinning the singles. I am spinning on my homemade spindles made of things from the craft store. Here is a picture of one of my spindles that I use.
I hope you are enjoying your hot weather, I know I am not, and have a great week!

.....The Husband is working for me.

My wonderful husband had put up a pegboard for me so I can display my yarn in my craft room. He did such a great job I have already used up the hooks and need some more. Here are some pictures.

I am so glad to have this up since I can display my yarny goodness and see what colors I have before acquiring more. =0P

Today is my last day of working, for now, at Moore and Moore Garden Center. It is hot and I only have 1.5 hours to work but I hope I survive this heat. Then it is staying inside in the AC for the summer. Well I better get back to the knitting before I have to work.

Have a good rest of the day and ignore those cicadas!

.... I am watching doggies make their beds

I love laying in bed before going to sleep and watching the dogs make their beds with the comforter and sheets. Gizmo can make a great bed with a swirly bowl to settle down in or toss the sheets around with her head to get under and curl up for a good night sleep.

Finished one mystery shawl on Friday night, the Mystery Medallion Shawl by Jen Hansen out of Dyeabolical Yarns Cotton Warp in the Fire Harvest colorway. I love the pattern but I will do it out of a tonal or semi-solid yarn next time. And I will do it again because it was so easy to do. Thanks Jen for a lovely KAL and pattern. Here are some pictures of it being blocked.

.... I am thinking about knitting

Knitting has been on my mind since I know I will be 'retired' soon from work. Taking a hiatus from working for the summer since it is too hot for me to work outside or roam around outdoors. This Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) thing is killing my groove on wanting to do things during warmer weather. Although it is 66 degrees here in Nashville at the end of May. Weird weather and spring!
I am going to enjoy these last 4 days of work at Moore and Moore Garden Center (yes, working the long weekend) then onto the next chapter of doggies annoying me. Hopefully I can annoy them back since I will not be able to take them to the dog park too often this summer.

Ok back to the knitting since that is where we started. Two new clues came out today for two Mystery Knit A Longs (KALs). The last clue came out for Mystery Medallion Shawl by Jen Hansen and I cannot wait to finish this shawl and knit it again. Pictures will come soon. Next is the Summer Mystery Shawlette by Wendy Johnson which this clue is longer and second to last clue. This is my first bottom-up shawl and I think I like is construction. I will be casting on her Japanese Garden Shawl soon since I have no other projects lined up for anyone.

Spinning is going great. I am currently drop spindling some Peruvian Wool Roving in the Sangria Colorway from AlohaBlu. It is spinning pretty thin but I am still a bit uneven since this is my second time spinning. I am proud of myself for getting thin singles, curious to see how it comes out plied.
Above is my first handspun yarn from wool samples at my LYS (Local Yarn Shop) and I got about 60 yards.

It's been fun but I have to head to work. Will see you next time!

So it has started

Yes, I have started a blog and who knows where it will go from here. Not promising anything! I guess my thoughts for it is to talk about when I am not knitting but I have a feeling it will be about knitting. Hope you join me in this journey to who knows where. See you soon.
